A glimpse of India’s ‘unity in diversity’ will be seen in the World Economic Forum, 100 CEOs of the country will participate.

World Economic Forum (WEF) A complete glimpse of India’s ‘unity in diversity’ will be seen in the 5-day meeting starting from Monday. Rich and powerful people of the world will gather in WEF from Monday. This time India is sending its largest ever contingent to Davos. The Indian delegation includes five Union Ministers, three Chief Ministers and several state ministers, along with around 100 chief executive officers (CEOs), luminaries from the government, civil society and art and culture sectors. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav will lead the Indian delegation. Before leaving for Davos, he said that there is a lot of interest in understanding our thought process at the World Economic Forum, the economic policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, digital transformation and the way India has created a new digital framework under the Digital India programme.

These four Union ministers will also participate

Along with Vaishnav, four Union ministers – C R Patil, Chirag Paswan, Jayant Choudhary and K Ram Mohan Naidu – will also attend the meeting. Chief ministers of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Devendra Fadnavis, N Chandrababu Naidu and A Revanth Reddy respectively will also attend the meeting. Apart from this, Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and senior ministers of many other states including TRB Raja of Tamil Nadu, P Rajeev of Kerala will also be present here. The presence of Uttar Pradesh will also be visible in Davos. Here the discussion has already started among the leaders regarding the Mahakumbh organized in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Maharashtra government aims to sign memorandum of understanding (MoU) worth Rs 7 lakh crore at the WEF annual meeting. Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister Reddy is looking for his share of the investment along with his cabinet colleague D Sridhar Babu and senior officials. Apart from this, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and other states are also participating in the meeting. Besides, the Central Government will also present India as an overall investment destination through its ministers and top officials.

Fear of slowdown in global economic growth

Ahead of the meeting, a survey of chief economists around the world said they expect global economic conditions to weaken in 2025. However, India will post strong growth despite losing some momentum. In its latest Chief Economists’ Outlook, the World Economic Forum said the global economy will face significant challenges in 2025. 56 percent of the chief economists surveyed expected the conditions to weaken. Only 17 percent of economists believed that the situation would improve. According to the survey, the US economy is expected to register strong growth in 2025. South Asia, especially India, will also maintain strong growth momentum. The world’s top 60 political leaders, including US President-elect Donald Trump, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, will address the WEF meeting.
