IND vs ENG, 1st T20I: The T20I series between India and England is going to start from tomorrow i.e. 22nd January. A total of 5 T20I matches will be played in this series. The first match will be held in Kolkata for which the playing eleven has been announced. The visiting English team has revealed its strong playing-11 for the first T20I match against India. England Cricket released its playing-11 on Instagram. Keeping in mind the Kolkata pitch, England has included 4 fast bowlers in its playing eleven.
Phil Salt has been given the responsibility of wicketkeeping in place of captain Jos Buttler. England cricket team coach Brendon McCullum had already told that Butler will not do wicketkeeping in the first T20I match to be played in Kolkata. After the playing-11 was revealed, it became clear that Phil Salt would be seen in the role of wicket-keeping in place of Butler.
Captain Jos Buttler will not open
Apart from wicketkeeping, Phil Salt will open the batting with Ben Duckett. Whereas, captain Jos Buttler will bat at number three. Apart from Gus Atkinson and Jamie Overton, fast bowlers Joffra Archer and Mark Wood have also been included in the playing eleven. A strong all-rounder in the form of Liam Livingstone has been given a chance in the playing eleven.
