Donald Trump is the first President to visit China since 1998.
America’s newly elected President Donald will visit China after taking oath. According to the Wall Street Journal report, Trump wants to visit Beijing to deepen relations with China. He has expressed his desire to undertake this tour within 100 days of his tenure.
Trump had talked about increasing tariffs on China during the election campaign. Since then, tension between the two countries has increased. Trump has also invited Jinping for his swearing-in. Jinping has decided to send Vice President Han Zheng to the swearing-in.
The report said that Trump has also talked to his advisors about visiting India. During Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s visit to the US last month, preliminary talks were also held regarding Trump’s visit to India.
Trump spoke on the phone with Chinese President Xi Jinping yesterday.
Trump talked to Jinping on trade and TikTok
After the phone call with Jinping, Trump described it as a very good conversation. He spoke to the Chinese President on trade TikTok and fentanyl and other issues.
After the conversation, Trump said that President Xi and I will make every possible effort to make the world more peaceful and secure.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Trump has asked China to crack down on producers supplying fentanyl. On the other hand, Trump is also working on a plan for new tariffs on Chinese imports.
This meeting to be held in Beijing will take place at a time when relations remain tense between the world’s major powers.
Trump will come to India for Quad
Donald Trump will visit India this year for the meeting of Quad countries. India is scheduled to host the Quad summit with the leaders of Australia, Japan and the US. This conference can be organized in April or October.
Apart from this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi can also visit America by the end of this year. During this, he will participate in a formal meeting with Trump at the White House. Earlier, PM Modi had participated in the Quad meeting with Joe Biden in Delaware last year.
Quad 2024 was to be organized in India, but on the insistence of Joe Biden, India gave its hosting to America.
