India vs England 1st T20: A series of five T20 matches will be played between India and England before the Champions Trophy. For this, both the teams have already been announced. The command of the Indian T20 team is in the hands of Suryakumar Yadav. The captain of the England T20 team is Jos Buttler. The first match between the two teams will be played at the historic Eden Gardens ground in Kolkata. Now both the teams have reached here for the first T20 matches.
Shami and Pandya will reach late night
The first T20 match is going to be played at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens after three years. England all-rounder Liam Livingston, who had come straight from South Africa, arrived first after playing SA20. The remaining members of the England team captained by Jos Buttler arrived here in the evening from Dubai. Team India players have come from their respective cities. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Rinku Singh have also reached here. After that came Captain Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma. Head coach Gautam Gambhir and the rest of the players arrived in the evening. Mohammed Shami and all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who are returning to international cricket after about fourteen months, will arrive late at night.
Mohammed Shami last played an international match for India in the year 2023. After that he was out due to injury. Just a few months ago, he returned to domestic cricket and performed strongly. After this he has returned to the T20 team. The selectors want to check his fitness completely before the Champions Trophy 2025.
Indian team has the upper hand
A total of 24 T20 International matches have been played between India and England so far, out of which India has won 13 and the England team has been successful in winning 11. If seen this way, the Indian team has the upper hand.
Both teams will participate in the practice session
Both teams will participate in three practice sessions before the first match. The second T20 will be played in Chennai on 25 January and the third in Rajkot on 28 January, the fourth T20 match will be played in Pune on 31 January. After this, the last and fifth T20 match will be played in Mumbai on February 2.
