The swearing-in ceremony of newly elected President Donald Trump will not be held outdoors on Monday but inside the US Capitol Hill (Parliament) due to severe cold. This will be the first time in 40 years that the swearing-in ceremony of a US President will be held inside.

Trump said on his Truth social platform on Friday that an Arctic storm is going on in the country. I don’t want people to get injured in any way. Therefore, in addition to the prayers and other speeches, I have ordered that the inaugural address also be given in the Capitol Rotunda (a circular room inside the building).

Earlier in 1985, Ronald Reagan’s swearing in also took place in the Capitol Rotunda. The Capitol Rotunda is under the dome in the Capitol Building. It is connected to the corridors leading to both houses of the US Parliament.
