PM Narendra Modi Maharashtra Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a tour of Maharashtra on Wednesday i.e. today. He will dedicate 3 flagship warships of the Navy, INS Surat, INS Nilgiri and INS Waghshir, to the nation at the Navy Dockyard in Mumbai today at around 10.30 am. Giving information about this, PM Modi had said on Monday that the induction of three frontline naval warships into the Navy on January 15, 2025 will strengthen our efforts to become a global leader in the defense sector and will increase our efforts towards self-reliance.
‘Our efforts will be strengthened’
Let us tell you that while replying to a post made by the Indian Navy on ‘X’, PM Modi said, ‘Tomorrow, January 15, is going to be a special day in terms of our naval capabilities. The induction of three frontline naval warships will strengthen our efforts to become a global leader in the defense sector and boost our efforts towards self-reliance. The commissioning of the three major naval warships is a significant achievement towards realizing India’s vision of becoming a global leader in defense manufacturing and maritime security, an official statement said.
75 percent indigenous material in INS Surat
INS Surat, the fourth and final warship of the P15B Guided Missile Destroyer project, is one of the largest and most sophisticated destroyers in the world. The special thing is that INS Surat has 75 percent indigenous content and is equipped with state-of-the-art weapon-sensor packages and advanced network-centric capabilities. INS Nilgiri, the first warship of the P17A Stealth Frigate Project, has been designed by the Indian Navy’s Warship Design Bureau and has been commissioned into the Navy with enhanced capability, longer sea survivability and advanced stealth features. It represents the next generation of indigenous frigates.
INS Waghshir is equipped with many features
INS Waghshir, the sixth and last submarine of the P75 Scorpene project, reflects India’s growing strength in submarine manufacturing. It has been constructed in collaboration with French Navy Group. This submarine has the ability to avoid enemy radar, monitor the terrain, gather intelligence, have high-tech sound control, emit low noise and adapt its structure according to the climate. It has the capability to deliver precision strikes to the enemy underwater or on the surface using 18 torpedoes and tube-launched anti-ship missiles simultaneously.
