Rahul Gandhi will not like the manner in which Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday. Omar Abdullah’s party National Conference is still in the INDIA alliance, although many leaders of the opposition parties are saying that this alliance was only for the Lok Sabha elections.
The occasion was the inauguration of the 6.5 km long tunnel connecting Sonamarg at an altitude of 8,500 feet, in which Omar Abdullah was giving a speech to welcome Modi. Omar Abdullah praised the Prime Minister in the rally held in Ganderbal. Omar said that Modi has a long relationship with Kashmir, whatever promises Modi made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, he fulfilled them. Modi had promised to hold assembly elections in Kashmir in June last year and conducted the elections within 4 months. This election was free and fair and there was no outside interference in it. Now the Prime Minister should soon fulfill his third promise, that is the promise of giving back full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
In response, Prime Minister Modi said, there is a time for every work and he will fulfill this promise at the right time. Modi said that Jammu and Kashmir is reaching new heights of development, this is the result of working together. Railway division has been built in Jammu, Sonamarg Tunnel has been built, work on Zojila Tunnel is going on at a fast pace, the world’s highest bridge has been built on Chenab River. Schools, colleges, hospitals, cinema halls, hotels and stadiums are being built in Kashmir, the beauty of the climate of Kashmir is returning again. Modi said that the promise he made was fulfilled, the foundation stone of the project was also inaugurated.
Modi said that the people of Kashmir should get the credit for the change in Kashmir because the people of Kashmir rejected terrorism and supported democracy. Modi said that Kashmir is the crown of India and he wants this crown to shine more.
What Omar Abdullah said is 100 percent correct. The situation in Jammu and Kashmir has changed rapidly in the last five years. In Kashmir, after 40 years, people went to watch movies in multiplexes, hospitals were built, roads reached every village, smart classes were built in schools, highways are being built for connectivity, tunnels are being built, all these have a direct impact on the lives of common people. There is an effect. People’s trust in the system increases. That is why the people of Jammu and Kashmir participated enthusiastically in this election and there was record voting.
Omar Abdullah’s government is working closely with the Central Government. Its effect is visible on the ground. By the way, Jammu and Kashmir is also a union territory like Delhi. Omar Abdullah has the same rights as the CM of Delhi. But Arvind Kejriwal has been just abusing Modi for ten years. LG also stopped Kejriwal’s work.
