Budget 2025 Expectations: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the country’s budget for the financial year 2025-26 on February 1, 2025. This will be the 8th budget of Nirmala Sitharaman. This will be the second budget after PM Narendra Modi becomes Prime Minister for the third time. The first full budget of PM Modi’s third term was presented in July last year, after he formed the government with his allies in June 2024. Like every time, this time too all sectors have high expectations from this budget. The health sector has a lot of expectations from this budget. While on one hand the common man wants relief from expensive treatment, on the other hand hospitals and pharmaceutical companies want to increase their earnings.

Health Sector: Demand for better services and increase in budget

Private hospitals of the country want relief from GST, so that along with increasing their earnings, the cost of treatment can be reduced. Dr. PN Arora, CMD of Yashoda Super Specialty Hospital, Ghaziabad, said that the input GST on health services in India should be reduced so that the cost of treatment comes down. Dr. PN Arora says that there is a huge difference between insurance premium and claim, which is very important to reduce. He says that the government should pay attention to this and take corrective steps.

Demand to increase the budget of public health facilities

Dr. Arora said that the budget of public health facilities should be increased and the private sector should be helped. He said that if the government pays attention to these things then definitely every citizen of the country will be able to get better and affordable health services. Along with this, the focus should be on improving the infrastructure in places where health services are less, so that everyone can get better and cheaper treatment even in small cities, towns and districts.
