Strata said it has received the official license from market regulator SEBI to launch its Small and Medium Real Estate Investment Trust (SM-REIT). Strata companies provide fractional ownership of commercial real estate to their clients. The name of SM-REIT will be Strata SM REIT. The company will facilitate retail and institutional investors to invest in high quality commercial properties in major cities.

“The company aims to initially launch six SM REIT schemes in 2025-26 and then gradually increase this target to one scheme per month,” Strata said in a statement.

Strata Capital will act as the investment manager for SM REIT.

Strata was previously a tech enabled real estate investment platform. It provided investors with the facility to lease, buy and sell portions of Grade-A commercial properties such as office space, warehouses, industrial properties, etc.

Strata’s AUM is over ₹2,000 crore.

The company statement said that it has now entered the SM REIT sector regulated by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
