Why is silver continuously becoming expensive?

Out of the total demand, about 60 to 70 percent comes from the industry itself.

Today on 14th October, the rate of silver in Delhi is Rs 1,85,100 per kg. At the same time, the rate of one kilogram silver in Chennai has reached above Rs 1,97,100. There is a difference of about Rs 12,000 in the price of silver in both the states. Silver rate in Chennai is set to reach Rs 2 lakh per kg.

Yesterday evening on October 13, gold rose by Rs 1,950 in Delhi’s bullion market to reach a new record level of Rs 1,27,950 per 10 grams. On Monday, silver jumped by Rs 7,500 to reach a new record level of Rs 1,79,000 per kg. On Friday it closed at Rs 1,71,500 per kg. In foreign markets, spot silver jumped nearly 3% to $ 51.74 an ounce.
A big jump was recorded in the prices of both gold and silver in Indore bullion market on Monday. According to local traders, gold rose by Rs 2,000 to Rs 1,29,000 per 10 grams, while silver rose by Rs 11,500 to Rs 1,77,500 per kg. At the same time, the price of silver coin was recorded at Rs 2,000 per piece.
