The Chief Minister ‘Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana’, being run by the Maharashtra Government for the economic empowerment of women, is also becoming active in 2025. Under this scheme, eligible women in the age group of 21 to 65 years are given financial assistance of Rs 1,500 every month directly into their Aadhaar linked bank accounts. The government has announced that the installment for the month of September will be sent to the accounts of eligible women from October 10, which will make the festival of Diwali a happy one for them.
The main objective of Ladki Bahin Yojana is to make women economically self-reliant and strengthen their socio-economic status. Through this scheme, steps are being taken towards increasing the income of the women beneficiary families as well as making them self-reliant. The scheme was started in 2024 and till now lakhs of women have benefited from it.
However, irregularities have also come to light in this scheme in the past, due to which the government has made the e-KYC process mandatory for verification of beneficiaries. Women who have not yet completed e-KYC of their Aadhaar linked bank accounts will have to complete the process immediately, otherwise their next installment will be stopped. Completing this process is important for both the government and the beneficiaries so that financial assistance can be delivered on time.
The government has provided an easy online process for e-KYC, in which beneficiaries can complete this process by visiting the official website of the scheme and entering their Aadhaar number, captcha code, and OTP received on the mobile. This will help in transparent and smooth implementation of the scheme.
This scheme is especially for women from poor, widowed, divorced, or economically weak families, so that they can improve the economic condition of the family and get better opportunities in life. The government has said that under this scheme, women will not only be given financial help, but their health, nutrition and social status in the family will also be strengthened.
The Maharashtra government has allocated a budget of approximately Rs 46,000 crore for this scheme, which will provide financial empowerment to women on a large scale. The government is trying to include more women beneficiaries in this scheme in the coming time and its benefits should reach maximum rural areas.
This scheme will bring real change in the lives of lakhs of women of Maharashtra, which will not only help them progress economically but will also increase their respect in the society. The news of getting the installment before Diwali has created a wave of happiness among the women beneficiaries and they expect similar cooperation from the government in future also.
Therefore, all eligible women are requested to complete their e-KYC as soon as possible and take advantage of this scheme so that they can get financial help on time. This scheme is an important initiative towards empowering women which will prove helpful in achieving economic independence easily.
