Ladki Bahin Yojana of Maharashtra Government aims to provide financial assistance to women and girls. This scheme is for women in the age group of 21 to 65 years whose annual family income does not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh. Under the scheme, financial assistance of Rs 1,500 is sent every month to eligible women directly into their Aadhaar linked bank accounts. This help is available in 11 installments of the year and till now many women have got benefits worth lakhs of rupees under this scheme.
However, the government has tightened the rules to prevent misuse of the scheme. Now, along with getting their KYC done, married women will also have to get their husband’s e-KYC done and unmarried women will also have to get their father’s e-KYC done. This step has been taken to stop fake beneficiaries of the scheme and to provide assistance to the right people. In case of not having proper e-KYC, the name of the beneficiary will be removed from the scheme.
The documents of this scheme include Aadhar card, bank passbook, identity card, income certificate etc. After filling the form and submitting the documents, the eligibility check is done by the bank and then the financial assistance is released.
This scheme not only promotes financial independence of women but also enables them to participate in social decisions. Through this, the government aims to strengthen women economically and improve their standard of living. The women who get assistance from this scheme not only get monthly income but also improve their self-confidence and social status.
