Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh): Referring to various initiatives taken in his state, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday said that Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will be implemented in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand this month. He said here that Uttarakhand is the first state in the country where there will be a Uniform Civil Code law.
On which date will UCC come into force?
Earlier it was believed that the Dhami government would implement UCC in the state from January 1, 2025. However, due to the issuance of notification regarding civic elections, the government cannot take any decision till January 23. In this situation, it is believed that the Dhami government of Uttarakhand can announce the implementation of UCC from January 26, 2025.
The number of tourists is continuously increasing
CM Dhami has said that the arrival of devotees and tourists is continuously increasing in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. He said, we will build Ganga corridor in Haridwar and Rishikesh. A corridor is also being built on the Sharda River, a lot of work has already started on this. Dhami, who came to inaugurate the 29th Uttarayani Fair organized here, said that a lot of development work is going on in Uttarakhand. He said that reconstruction is going on at Baba Kedar Nath. By-elections were held there and BJP won there. Work is being done in Badrinath Dham as per the master plan. The work of beautification and reconstruction of all the temples in Kumaon region is going on continuously.
Uttarakhand is being developed as ‘Destination Wedding’
He said that more devotees go to Purnagiri from Uttar Pradesh. I feel very happy. Now we will build Sharda Corridor there which will create beautiful ghats and beautification. Uttarakhand is being developed in the form of ‘destination wedding’ and tourism so that people will hold marriage and other functions in Devbhoomi instead of abroad.”
Referring to various legal reforms related to governance and security, the Chief Minister said, we made anti-conversion law. We made a strict anti-riot law. We also made an anti-copying law. He said that the government has made a law on land jihad and 5000 acres of land has been freed from encroachment. He told that the 28th National Games is going to start in Uttarakhand from January 28, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Its concluding program will be held in Haldwani.
