Online PAN update process
In some easy process, you can change details like name, address, date of birth and mobile number in your PAN online or make correction in it. For this, follow these steps.
- Visit the official website of NSDL (Protean Egov) or Utiitsl.
- Choose ‘Changes/Correction in Pan’ option.
- Fill information like PAN number, name, date of birth and email and generate a token number of 15 digits.
- Choose the details that you want to change and enter the correct information.
- Upload the necessary documents like identity card, address proof, date of birth and photo/signature.
- Pay online fees and submit the form.
- Download the Acknowledgment slip and track the status of the update from this number.
Offline process also available
Those who want offline process, they can submit the “request for new pan card or correction in Pan Data” and submit it to the nearest Pan Center. It is necessary to impose identity, address and date of birth and old PAN card with the form. After depositing the fees, an ackaneOleDegement slip is available.
How much will PAN card be charged in update
The PAN card depends on how much fees will be charged for updates or correction, or the changes made in it and the type of PAN card.
- For only e-pans: Around ₹ 101 (including GST) for those living in India, while about ₹ 1,018 for those living abroad
- Physical PAN Card: About ₹ 110 for people living in India and about ₹ 1,020 for those living abroad
If photos, signature and other biometric changes are also made, there may be a slight difference in the fee.
How long will the updated PAN card be available.
After the completion of all the process, a new or corner PAN card is usually issued in 15 to 20 working days. If there is any deficiency in the document, then this time may increase slightly. E-PAN (in PDF format) usually meets quickly, while the physical card takes some time to come by post.
