On June 12, Boeing 787-8, going from Ahmedabad to London, collided with a medical hostel building shortly after. 270 people died in this.
The US official agency Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Boeing issued a private notification on Sunday stating that the fuel switch lock of the Boeing Plane is absolutely safe.
FAA said, ‘Fuel control switch design, locking features, are the same in different aircraft of Boeing. Nevertheless, we do not consider it to be a location of danger, for which airworthiness needs to be given on any Boeing aircraft model.
According to news agency Reuters, FAA and Boeing revealed this notification following the initial report of Ahmedabad-London Plain Crash on July 11, in which the engine fuel cutoff switch was questioned.
On the other hand, the news agency PTI quoted sources on Sunday as saying that Air India had changed the Ahmedabad-London Boeing 787-8 flight’s throttle control module (TCM) twice after Boeing’s directive in 2019.
TCM consists of fuel control switches, which have become the center of investigation into the plane crash accident. Because on June 12, these switches were closed immediately after the takeoff in Ahmedabad-London flight. Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) said on 12 July that TCM was converted to 2019 and 2023 at Ahmedabad-London Plane.
