A police helicopter fell directly into the river during emergency landing in Johor state of Malaysia on Wednesday morning. The accident occurred in the Dahar Palai area.
The helicopter at that time was involved in regular military exercises (Mitsatom 2025). The five crew members in the helicopter have been safely taken out.
After the rescue operation, all the injured officers were admitted to Sultana Amina Hospital in Johor Baru. The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia has said that the accident will be investigated by the Air Accident Investigation Bureau.

Helicopter dropped only a few minutes after takeoff
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), the helicopter flew from Tanjung Kupang police station at 9:51 am. But within a few minutes it had to make an emergency landing due to technical disturbances. It happened in the Landing River.
Immediately after falling into the river, the Marine Police Force rescued all the five crew members and brought them to a nearby Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) JT. After this, everyone was sent for treatment.
There was no life in this accident, but the Malaysian civil aviation regulator has started an investigation considering it a serious aviation incident.
According to CAAM, the investigation will be done by the Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB). This bureau works under the Ministry of Transport. The investigation will be under Part XXVI of the Civil Aviation Regulation 2016.
The helicopter fell 30 years old in the accident
The Helicopter, a victim of the accident, was the Airbus AS355N model manufactured in France. It is a light utility single-rotor helicopter. It was produced from 1975 to 2016 and is used by security forces, private charters and corporate services worldwide.
The helicopter was delivered to the Malaysian police in 1996. In November of 2023, new tenders were called to change them.
The question arises from the accident whether the service period of the old aircraft is over and whether more such accidents can be stopped in future.
