6 agents of Secret Service have been suspended on charges of security lapse during the deadly attack on US President Donald Trump last year. This information has been given by ABC News to the officials.
The action took place 4 days before the completion of one year of Trump’s attack. On 13 July 2024 Trump was fired at Butler, Pennsylvania. The bullet came out on Trump’s ear and he was injured.
In this attack, a firefighter involved in Trump’s rally, Corey Comprehensive, was killed. In retaliation, the secret service snipers present on the spot shot the attacker Thomas Matthew Krux (20 years).
The suspended agents have been given the right to appeal. According to an official, they were suspended for 10 to 42 days. These include senior officers to lower level field agents.

Trump was surrounded by the Secret Service agents after being shot.
The attack was possible due to negligence and flaws
After the attack, the investigation report of the US Homeland Security Department revealed that the attack on Trump was possible due to negligence and flaws at several levels of security agencies.
The report said,

Secret service is no longer working at the level which is necessary for its important responsibility. This institution has now turned into a root and careless system, while the threats are continuously increasing and technology has also moved forward.
Ten days after the attack, the then Secret Service Director Kimberly Chital resigned.
Just 9 weeks after the incident of Butler, Trump was attacked by another fatal attack when he was on his golf course in the West Palm Beach of Florida.
After both these incidents, Trump was provided the President’s level security and his rallies were planned under the new security guidelines.
