Post office: The post office has taken another major step by increasing the facility of customers. Now the post office will also be available in the post office through a service Aadhaar based biometric E-KYC related to Recharging Deposit (RD) and Public Provident Fund (PPF) account. That is, there will be no need to fill the form from opening the account to transaction.
What is change?
Earlier Aadhaar-Based E-Kyc facility was available only in some schemes like MIS, TD, KVP and NSC. But now it has also been implemented on RD and PPF accounts across the country. For RD and PPF accounts, now you can do this work through biometric base in the post office.
Opening new RD or PPF account.
To submit the amount in your account.
Taking a loan on RD and PPF.
Paying EMI of loan taken.
Withdraw money from PPF account (without any limit)
Aadhaar number will now be safe
Now the Aadhaar number will be masked on all papers. That is, only the last four digits will be seen.
If a document is seen in the photo copy of Aadhaar like a document, then the post office staff has been instructed to hide it with a black pen.
How will this complete process do?
The Post Office Assistant (PA) will get the consent of Aadhaar by taking biometric scan from the customer.
Identity will be verified while opening an account or by taking a fingerprint for the second time for transactions.
Neither pay-in slip has to be filled in this process, nor any withdrawal form.
The amount that we will tell while opening the account will be considered your deposit amount.
If the money is being transferred from your post office savings account, then no separate form (SB-7) will have to be filled.
The postal department informed that soon these works will also be done through Aadhaar-biometric service.
