UIDAI released new list of documents
The Unique Identification Authority of India i.e. UIDAI has released a new list for the year 2025–26 for making Aadhaar and updates. The new list states which documents will now be required for Aadhaar.

Indian citizen
Indians living abroad (OCI card holder)
Children above 5 years old
Long -term visas (LTV) living in India
Which documents are valid?
Indian passport is valid for all four types of proofs – identity (ID), evidence of address, relationship and date of birth.
Apart from this, these documents can also work
PAN card
Ration card
Driving license
Bank passbook
Pension card
Any certificate received from the government
Which of these documents to be given, it will depend on what you are getting updated.
Now the same basis for a person
UIDAI has clearly stated that if someone has accidentally become two or more Aadhaar numbers, then the first Aadhaar issued will be valid, and all the other Aadhaar will be canceled.
Different rules for OCI and foreign nationals
Foreign nationals and those holding OCI cards will have to give documents such as foreign passports, visas, citizenship certificates, or a resident permit received from FRRO.
Name, gender or date of birth is changed?
If you want to change the name, date of birth or gender in your base, then it will have to give a gazette notification, medical certificate or self -decalyration with a birth certificate.
