US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke over the phone on Thursday. After Trump became President again in January, the two leaders interacted for the sixth time. According to Russia, the two leaders spoke on several issues including Ukraine, Iran and America-Russia relations.
During this, Putin made it clear that Russia will remain ending the real cause of Ukraine War. He said that he is ready to interact with Ukraine, he would have to give up insistence to join NATO and the areas that Russia have occupied after 2022 will have to be recognized.
Putin Senior Advisor Yuri Ushakov said that Trump emphasized the need to end Ukraine War soon. At the same time, Putin insisted by trying to find a solution to the war through talks.
Trump-Putin spoke 6 times in 6 months
- First conversation (12 February 2025): This was the first official conversation between the two leaders in Trump’s second term. It talked about issues like Ukraine, Middle East, AI and Energy.
- Second conversation (18 March 2025): It discussed issues such as ceasefire in Ukraine, preventing attacks on energy infra, and maritime ceasefire in Black C.
- Third conversation (19 May 2025): Trump tried to end the Ukraine War, but Putin immediately refused the ceasefire. Russia agreed to stop the attack on Energy Infra.
- Fourth conversation (4 June 2025): Drone attacks and Iran’s nuclear program were discussed at Ukraine’s Russian Airport. Trump said that this conversation will not come immediately.
- Fifth conversation (14 June 2025): In the conversation, the Middle East discussed the increasing tension, Ukraine War, and the nuclear deal with Iran. Putin also congratulated Trump on his birthday.
- Sixth conversation (3 July 2025): Putin insisted on abolishing the real cause of the Ukraine war, which included Ukraine’s involvement in NATO. Trump tried the ceasefire.
America stopped Ukraine’s weapon supply
In a conversation with Trump, Putin claimed that Russia attacked Ukraine to stop NATO’s expansion and protect Russian -speaking people. However, Kyiv and Western countries dismiss these claims outright.
This conversation took place at a time when the US has temporarily stopped Ukraine Air Defense Missiles and many weapons supply.
