There was a bilateral meeting of Defense Ministers in the SCO Summit’s sideline on Friday between India and China. It included Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Chinese Defense Minister Admiral Dong Jun. Rajnath Singh presented the Madhubani painting of Bihar to the Chinese Defense Minister. After the meeting, Rajnath Singh said that there was a constructive and future conversation between the two countries regarding bilateral relations.
China has also said the meeting positive and important in terms of mutual understanding. He said in his statement that India does not want confrontation, but wants to increase confidence.
Rajnath also raised the issue of Pakistan -backed terrorism
Rajnath Singh stated the need to work between the two countries for a good neighbor relationship and work for stability in Asia. He also praised the resumption of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.
Along with this, he also informed the Defense Minister of China about the recent terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir and India’s action in Pakistan. Rajnath Singh said that Operation Sindoor is a stand of India on the issue of terrorism.
Earlier on Thursday, there was a meeting of the Defense Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Sangathan (SCO). India’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Pakistan Defense Minister Khwaja Asif attended both. However, Rajnath Singh did not meet the Pakistani Defense Minister.
India did not sign on SCO’s joint statement
Rajnath Singh also refused to sign the Joint statement of SCO yesterday. Because it did not include a terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, while Pakistan’s terrorist incident in Balochistan was mentioned. India expressed displeasure with this.
Rajnath Singh said in the meeting, ‘Some countries consider terrorism across the border as their policy. They give shelter to terrorists. Then deny it. There should be no place for such double standard. They have to understand that now the episoders of terrorism are not safe. SCO should not hesitate to criticize such countries.

What is sco
Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is a regional international organization founded in 2001 by China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Later India and Pakistan became its members in 2017 and Iran also became a member in 2023.
The SCO aims to increase security, economic and political cooperation among the member countries. The organization formulates a shared strategy on issues like terrorism, extremism, drug smuggling and cyber crime.
