After a huge fall in the last session, the domestic stock market made a strong start on Tuesday. At 9.21 am, the benchmark Sensex of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) was trading at the level of 78,352.68 with a strong gain of 387.69 points. Similarly, Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading at the level of 23,763.65 with a rise of 147.65 points. Besides, Nifty Bank was also seen trading at the level of 50,239.15 points with an increase of 317.15 points.
Top gainer and top loser
In today’s early trade on Nifty, ONGC, BPCL, Tata Consumer, HCL Tech, Titan Company were the major gainers, while shares of M&M, NTPC, Apollo Hospitals, Axis Bank, Power Grid Corp were in loss. Apart from this, all the sectors are trading in the green. The oil and gas index is up 1 percent.
Investors lost Rs 11 lakh crore on Monday
There was panic in the Indian market last Monday due to the news of the entry of Chinese virus HMPV in India. There was tremendous selling and within no time investors lost Rs 11 lakh crore. On Monday, BSE Sensex fell by 1258.12 points and closed at 77,964.99 points, while NSE Nifty closed at 23,616.05 with a big fall of 388.70 points.
How is the trend in the world markets today?
Asian shares were mostly up on Tuesday, boosted by rising tech stocks led by Nvidia on Wall Street. Japan’s benchmark Nikkei 225 jumped 2.4% to 40,248.68 in morning trading. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.3% to 8,279.30. South Korea’s Kospi rose about 1.0% to 2,513.39. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index fell 0.3% to 19,635.67, while the Shanghai Composite was little changed, falling less than 0.1% to 3,205.55.
Nippon Steel, whose U.S. Steel fell 1.5% in Tokyo trading after its chief executive vowed to pursue a deal, after an effort to acquire it is being blocked by the Biden administration. The S&P 500 gained 0.6% for the second time after five consecutive losses, its longest decline since April. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost early gains and slipped 25 points, or 0.1%, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 1.2%. Shares on the S&P 500 rose slightly, while gains were recorded amid mixed trading.
