Cab aggregators have refused to remove the option of advance tip on cab booking. Despite the notice of the Central Consumer Protection Authority, cab aggregators are not ready to remove this option. According to sources, now CCPA has started investigating it and soon a penalty can be imposed on companies. Giving more information on this, Aseem Manchanda of CNBC-Awaaz said that the matter of asking for advance tip on cab booking seems to be catching up.
Cab aggregators say that this is not an abuser trade practice. Customers have the option to deny the advance tip. On the other hand, CCPA has started investigating the claims of companies on this issue. The investigation of companies may be completed by next week. Penalty on companies is possible after the investigation is completed. On 16 May, CCPA sent notice to companies. The notice was sent by CCPA to Ola, Uber and Rapido.

While booking the cab on the app of cab aggregators, users get an option to give an advance tip of 50, 75 or 100 rupees in the name of fast pickup and more likely to accept the ride by the driver. The app is written on the app to add tip to rapid pickup. If you add the tip, the driver may be more likely to accept this ride. It is also told in the app that this entire amount of the tip will be given directly to the driver and once it adds the tip, it cannot be changed.
