Katra to Srinagar: Katra to Srinagar will reach only 3 hours and 700 rupees. From Saturday 7 June 2025 tomorrow, two new Vande Bharat trains are being started between Katra and Srinagar. That is, it will now be very easy for the passengers traveling to Vaishno Devi to visit Srinagar from Katra. These trains will prove to be a big gift for the people and tourists of Kashmir. Passing through beautiful litigants, high speed and comfortable Vande Bharat train can now become the new identity of Kashmir. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start these trains on 6 June and from June 7, common people will be able to use them.
Srinagar arrived in just 3 hours
The journey from Katra to Srinagar from new Vande Bharat trains will be completed in just three hours. Train number 26401 will leave from Katra at 8:10 am and reach Srinagar at 11:08 am. There will be a two -minute stop at only Banihal station in the middle. The fare of the chair car will be Rs 715 and the executive class will be Rs 1,320. In return, train number 26402 will leave from Srinagar at 2 pm and arrive at 4:58 pm. Its fare will be 880 (chair car) and Rs 1,515 (executive). This train will run six days a week. These trains will not run only on Tuesday.
Second train time and rent
The second train number 26403 will leave Katra at 2:55 pm and reach Srinagar at 5:53 pm. Its journey will also be 2 hours 58 minutes. The fare of this train will be Rs 660 for chair car and Rs 1,270 for executive class. Its fare is slightly lower as it has low catering charge. The return train (26404) will leave from Srinagar at 8 am and reach Katra at 10:58 am. Its fare will be Rs 715 and Rs 1,320. This train will not run on Wednesday.
Kashmir is now connected to the country’s railway network
With the introduction of these Vande Bharat trains, Kashmir has now been connected to the rest of the country through railway network. Earlier, trains used to run in the Kashmir Valley, but she was not connected to the National Rail Network. This connectivity has been possible after the completion of Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link Project (USBRL).
Train will run without hindrance even in special weather
In view of the severe cold and snowfall in Kashmir, these trains have been prepared with special technology. In these, silicone heating pads and self-heating cables have been installed to prevent water and bio-toilet pipes from freezing. The coach has facilities such as heaters, 360 degrees of seats and mobile charging points so that passengers can get comfortable travel in every season.
Connectivity will also be available to Jammu soon
At present, these trains will run between Katra and Srinagar, but in future there are plans to increase them to Jammu. According to the Railway Ministry, work is going on at Jammu railway station and as soon as it is complete, Vande India will be extended there.
