7th Pay Commission: DA increased by 2% in this state, now 55% dearness allowance; Arrear will be available in June – Jammu Kashmir Increases Da To 55 Percent Effective From 1 January 2025

7th pay commission: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced a 2% increase in dearness allowance for its employees. After this, DA has now increased to 55% of the basic salary, which was 53% earlier. This revised DA will be effective from 1 January 2025 and its arrears will be given in June 2025. After this, this new DA will be included in the salary of every month.

This increase will benefit all the employees coming under the structure of the 7th Pay Commission. This decision has been in line with the recent 2% increase in DA for central employees and pensioners by the Central Government.

7th Pay Commission’s last DA hike

With this amendment, DA has reached 55%, which is considered to be the last DA growth under the 7th Pay Commission. The validity of the 7th Pay Commission ends on 31 December 2025.

What is the reason for the increase?

This increase in dearness allowance is based on the data of All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (AICPI-IW). This index is steadily increasing. In March 2025, the index rose 0.2 points to 143.0. At the same time, it increased by 0.5 points in April 2025 and it reached 143.5.

The Labor Bureau has confirmed that CPI-IW rose 0.5 points to 143.5 in April, which is a sign of rising inflation. Due to this, this amendment in DA became necessary.

When will the next amendment be?

Now the eyes of the employees are on the next DA amendment, which will be applicable from 1 July 2025. It is usually announced around Diwali (October-November). This can also be the last DA Hike of the 7th Pay Commission. After this, the 8th Pay Commission can be implemented from 1 January 2026.
