The interim government of Bangladesh on Tuesday ended the status of ‘Father of the Nation’ of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s father and first President Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. For this, an ordinance was issued and the word ‘Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’ was removed from the law.

Along with this, the definition of freedom fighter has also been changed.

A few days ago, Mohammad Yunus’s government also removed the picture of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from the new currency notes.
