‘You cannot win T20 matches by playing 20 overs well’- Rishabh Pant made such a statement after losing to RCB

In IPL 2025, the Lucknow Super Giants’ campaign ended with defeat. LSG lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore in their last league match. In the last match, the Bengaluru team created history by achieving a record target of 228 runs against Lucknow. This is RCB’s biggest run chase in IPL history. Rishabh Pant looked quite disappointed after losing the match. He explained why his team could not perform well this season.

Rishabh Pant made a big statement about the performance of the team

Pant admitted that his team could not perform well with continuity this season, due to which the results did not remain in favor of his team. After the match against RCB, Pant said that any team has to play good cricket for 40 overs for 40 overs to win a T20 match. You cannot win a T20 match by playing 20 overs well and this has been our story. Many of our players were injured before the tournament, which we had to bear the whole season.

Pant also told what positive things he got. The LSG captain said that the way his batting unit has performed was quite spectacular. Some bowlers have also done well for the team this season. Digvesh Rathi is one of them, Avesh threw some important overs. The team was getting opportunities but could not retain it for a long time.

Pant could not do anything special with the bat in IPL 2025

Lucknow bought Rishabh Pant for 27 crores in the mega auction. After that the franchise also made him captain with great expectations. But he could not perform well as captain and batsman. Pant was able to score just 151 runs in the 12 innings starting this season. But in the last league match against RCB, he improved his figures by scoring a century. He scored 269 runs in 13 innings of 14 matches at an average of 24.52 in the entire season. His highest score was 118 not out.
