World champion Gukesh, Koneru Hampi won from world number-1 player

World’s number-1 chess player Magnus Carlson defeated India’s current world champion D Gukesh in a very exciting match in the first round of the Norway Chess tournament. In the match, Carlson won 55 tricks, showing his spectacular strategy in the final moments.

In this classical match which lasted more than 4 hours, Gukesh kept Carlson under pressure most of the time, but an important mistake took away his hand from his hand. The victory scored a full three points from Carlson and a joint lead with American Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura, who defeated Fabiano Caruana.

Gukesh, who was playing with black pieces, neutralized his rival’s white pieces lead until the 11th move, when he forced the Norway player to think for more than 15 minutes. But now 34 -year -old Carlson, who started playing in small formats like rapid and blitz and recently in freestyle chess, won 55 tricks and showed that he had not lost his contact with classical format. In this tournament, 6-6 top players in the open and women’s category have been in part.

Arjun Arigasi, another Indian player participating in the tournament, defeated China’s No.-1 Grandmaster Wei Yi in Armagadon match. The classical bet between the two was drawn in 54 tricks. Arjun got 1.5 points from the victory in Armagadon, while Vai Yi’s account was 1 point.

Koneru Hampi also won

Two -time world rapid champion Koneru Hampi also won a decisive match against Indian player R Vaishali. The match was very balanced, but in the end, Hampi won his name by taking advantage of a lapse of Vaishali. In the tournament, the next match will now be played between Arjun Arigasi and D Gukesh in the second round, which will be eyeing everyone.
