DDA Sasta Ghar Yojana: This is a golden opportunity to buy a cheap house in Delhi. DDA is offering up to 25 percent discount for buying a house. However, not everyone can apply for this. Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has recently started a special camp to provide help to the beneficiaries under the ‘Sasta Ghar’ scheme. This scheme has been approved by Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. Under the DDA Affordable Home Scheme, the aim is to make it easier for the common people to buy a house. Under the scheme, different categories of citizens are provided houses at affordable rates.
DDA Affordable Housing Scheme Eligibility and Exemptions
Under the ‘Sasta Ghar’ scheme, eligible beneficiaries will be given a special discount of 25% on purchasing a house. This benefit will be available only to some categories of people. The list includes the people mentioned below.

Auto and Taxi Drivers
Veer Naariyan (widows of military personnel)
dogs of War
Gallantry and Arjuna Award Winner
disabled person
Scheduled Caste/Tribe (SC/ST) people
Camps will be organized at different places in Delhi
In Delhi, these special camps are being organized at the construction sites of Delhi Bhawan and other Construction Workers Welfare Board sites like DMRC, NCRTC, CPWD and NHAI project sites. The purpose of these camps is to provide benefits of the scheme to laborers, workers and slum dwellers.
There will be outreach program for target groups
Departments are running awareness programs to extend the benefits of the scheme to maximum people.
Rajya Sainik Board: Will organize programs for Veer Nariyaans, ex-servicemen and award winners.
transport department: ARU/VIU will organize a camp at Burari for auto and taxi drivers.
Delhi SC/ST Finance and Development Corporation: Will give loans to SC/ST applicants.
Women and Child Development, Social Welfare and SC/ST Department: Will organize camps for women, street vendors and disabled people.
Role of DDA and operation of camps
To ensure smooth process of the camps, DDA officials will be present at every camp site and will provide all the necessary information and forms related to the scheme. Nodal officers of the concerned departments and DDA will look after the operation of these camps. The operation of the camps has started from Saturday. All departments will have to submit reports of their outreach efforts to the Chief Secretary within 15 days, which will be submitted for review by the Lieutenant Governor.
