Ration card: If you are taking advantage of government ration or any scheme, then do your work by June 30. The government has made it mandatory for all ration card holders to get E-KYC i.e. e-No Your Customer. Its last date is now 30 June 2025. That is, now there is only four days left. If you do not get E-Kyc done till this date, then your ration card may be canceled. Also, cheap or free ration will stop getting.
Why is the E-KYC of the ration card important?
The government aims to make the ration distribution process transparent and corruption free. It has been seen many times that some people take advantage of ration despite being ineligible with fake ration cards or ineligible. In some cases, ration is taken in his name even after the death of a person.
To prevent all these disturbances, the government has started the E-KYC process. Under this process, the identity of ration card holder and their family members is linked to the Aadhaar card, so that it can be decided that only real and needy people get benefit.
Earlier, 31 March, now deadline has increased
Earlier, the government had kept the last date of E-KYC 31 March 2025, but many people had trouble due to lack of technical problems and information. Therefore, now the date has been extended to 30 June 2025.
How to get E-Kyc done?
1. Offline method
Go to your nearest ration shop or Common Service Center (CSC).
Take along: Take ration card and Aadhaar card of all family members.
There will be biometric verification (thumb or face) from the pos machine.
Your ration card will be linked to Aadhaar
2. Online method:
Download apps like Mera Ration or Aadhaar Face RD.
Enter the Aadhaar number, verify from OTP.
Scan the face with the camera.
E-KYC will be considered successful after the process is completed.
If KYC is not done on time?
The ration card can be canceled.
The benefits of government schemes will stop.
The name will be removed from the beneficiary list.
Applications have to be submitted to start again.
What to do if the name is cut?
Contact at the nearest food supply office or ration shop
Apply again with the right document.
Get the documents a disturbance (eg mobile number or Aadhaar wrong).
