Shubman Gill Test Runs: The Indian team had to lose the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 3-1 against Australia. With the loss of the series, Team India’s dream of reaching the final of the World Test Championship 2025 was also shattered. For Team India, young batsman Shubman Gill could not perform as per his name. He is struggling with poor form and runs have stopped coming from his bat. In BGT 2024-25, he was seen struggling to score runs.
Flopped against Australia
In the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, he played innings of 31, 28, 1, 20 and 13 runs in three matches. He could not score more than 40 in a single match. He did not play in the first match of BGT 2024-25 due to injury. After this, he could not do anything special in the second and third matches. Then captain Rohit Sharma took a big decision and showed him the way out of the playing eleven of the fourth test. He returned to the playing eleven for the fifth Test, but he failed miserably in scoring runs. Now whether he gets a chance for the England Test series or not remains to be seen.
The last test century on foreign soil came in the year 2022
Forget about scoring runs on foreign soil, Shubman Gill is yearning to stay at the crease. He scored his last century for the Indian team on foreign soil in Tests in December 2022. Then he played against Bangladesh. After that, let alone a century, he has not even scored a half-century on foreign soil. Every time he left Team India’s boat in the middle and returned to the pavilion. He has played 13 matches abroad in his Test career, in which he has scored only 649 runs with his bat. During this period his average has been 29.50 and he has been able to score only one century.
Shubman Gill played all three formats for India
Shubman Gill made his Test debut for the Indian team in the year 2020 against Australia. After this, till now he has played 32 Tests, in which only 1893 runs have been scored with his bat at an average of 35.05. During this period he has scored five centuries and 7 half-centuries. Gill has also played 47 ODI and 21 T20 International matches for Team India.
