Satellite broadband service is going to be launched soon in India. Companies launching satellite internet service in India also include several foreign players, including Allen Musk’s Starlink, Amazon Kuiipar and YouTelsat’s ONEWEB, including Airtel’s stake. The government has made great preparations before launching satellite service. Keeping in mind the national security, the central government has decided to make big investment.
Monitoring facility will be setup
According to the ET report, the government has decided to set up facility for monitoring satellite service in India. For this, more than Rs 900 crore will be invested. Desi and foreign satellites present in the Indian border will be monitored through it. This facility will be setup for monitoring local and global operations.
According to the report, the government will make provisions in the new telecom policy for this so that the next 5 -year roadmap can be prepared. According to the official related to the case, a Digital Communication Commission (DCC) will be prepared for this, in which an inter-ministry panel will be created. The Department of Telecommunications (DOT) has already given clearance for this and a budget of Rs 930 crore has been prepared for this facility.
Rules made strict
After this facility is operational, local and foreign satellites providing communication service in India will be monitored. Apart from monitoring, co-orders will also be done with each other to improve satellite service. Currently, preparations are being made to launch Communication Service in India through Leo i.e. Low Orbit Satellite. Not only this, the Department of Telecommunications has made the rules more strict before starting satellites service. Now satellite service providers will have to complete more than 30 new compliances.
Keeping in mind the security of the country, the agency will have the right to decide which country will be given a gateway to start service in India. The government is preparing to make India a leader in the field of SATCOM. For this, many start-ups will be exercised to take off the company. Also, regulatory framework will be easier to install a better satellite market in India.
