Whatsapp scam: Sending a fun meme on Whatsapp can now be overwhelming for you. In a new cyber fraud, hackers can install malware or spyware in your mobile through images or mims sent to Whatsapp, which can put your banking information, social media accounts, photos and passwords in danger.
How is this scam?
In this fraud, fraudsters send attractive or fun images, which look normal. But as soon as you download them, dangerous software gets installed in your phone. This software can record every word typed on your keyboard, which can stolen your bank password, OTP and other necessary information.
What can harm?
Money stolen from bank account.
Hack to social media accounts.
Save photo and document leak in the phone.
The performance of the phone is slow or hanged.
How to avoid this scam?
Do not download the image or mimes from unknown number.
Do not forward such suspicious images to others.
Install antivirus or security app in your phone and keep it updated.
If there is any unusual activity in the phone, turn off the Internet connection immediately and run the security scan.
