Kidambi Srikanth, the star badminton player of the Indian team, is performing very well. He entered the men’s singles final of the BWF tournament for the first time in six years by winning a straight game over Japan’s Yushi Tanaka in the Malaysia Masters Super 500 Badminton Tournament. Kidambi Srikanth said after the victory that I am very happy, I have reached here after a long time. Srikanth was runner -up at the 2019 India Open and since then the 32 -year -old player has the first final in the BWF World Tour. He won four titles in 2017. He said that physically I feel good. But I did not play much matches last year. Now I am playing qualifying. This time everything was fine. I have been working hard since last month. It won after a very long time.
Initially Srikanth made mistakes
In the initial game, Kidambi Srikanth made some mistakes while trying to combat Tanaka’s speed and fell back 1-5. Some of the best straight slices and smash this Indian reduced the difference, but the Japanese player maintained a five -point lead with a great cross smash. Srikanth slowly formed rallies and forced the Japanese player to make mistakes and made the score 8-9. However, during the break, Tanaka maintained a three -point lead. The Indian player equaled 14–14 and took a 19–16 lead from a brilliant cross-court return.
Srikanth showed aggressive game
Smash gave him two game points and he won the first game. Tanaka again took a strong start in the second game and took a 7–2 lead after 3–0. But just like the first game, Srikanth responded aggressively and the score was 8-9 and soon made the score equal. Tanaka made some easy mistakes, leading to Srikanth ahead 13-10. Then Srikanth achieved the match point. Srikanth matched in his favor with Tanaka’s wide shot.
