Foreign Minister S Jaishankar
Underlining India’s attitude to counter terrorism, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has said that ‘Operation Sindoor’ is going on, as there is a other terrorist attack like attack in Pahalgam, India will answer and if terrorist activities are going on from Pakistan, they will target them.
In an interview to the Netherlands -based NOS, Jaishankar said that India attacked the terrorist bases nominated in the list released by the United Nations. He said that the United Nations Security Council regularly releases a list, which contains information about major terrorists and their residence and their operating site.
Asked if the operation is going on, the Foreign Minister replied, “The operation is going on because there is a clear message in that operation that if we see the act we see on April 22, there will be a response, we will kill the terrorists. If the terrorists are in Pakistan, we will kill them there, so there is a message to continue the operation. However, the operation is not like a firing on each other.
The Foreign Minister recalled that 26 tourists were murdered in front of their families on 22 April in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir after their faith in Pahalgam. He said that the purpose of this attack was to harm tourism, which is the mainstay of Kashmir’s economy, and to create religious discord.
“The motive was to harm tourism”
On the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jaishankar said, “There was a recent fight between India and Pakistan. First of all you have to understand what it was about, it started with a very barbaric terrorist attack, which took place in the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 tourists were murdered in front of their families after their families were murdered and this was done in such a way that it was damaged. The mainstay of Kashmir’s economy is to create religious discord. To understand it, you also have to look at the Pakistani side, you have a Pakistani leadership, especially their army chief, who are very much inspired by highly religious perspectives.
Jaishankar said that the resistance front (TRF), a group created by Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let), took responsibility for the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. He said that India has identified the attackers and is associated with LET. He recalled that India had informed the 1267 sanction committee of the United Nations Security Council in 2023, 2024 and 2025 about the TRF. He also showed the list of United Nations to the journalist during the interview.
Asked whether India could catch the terrorists who had killed the tourists, Jaishankar replied, “I think we were able to identify them, because their pictures were. The responsibility of this attack was taken by a group called The Resistance Front and this is a group that has been on our radar for many years. 2023, 2024 and 2025, we took the attention of the United Nations Security Council in the focus of the United Nations Security Council, we took the 12677 restrictions of this group in the 12677 Business Council. And we said that we see a group created by Lashkar. Lashkar is one of the main terrorist groups of Pakistan and we can see the relationship long before the April 22 attack.
“We know that they are associated with Lashkar”
He added, “We identified people, attackers, we know that they are associated with Lashkar. We know the command center of terrorist groups, it is no secret. If you look at the United Nations Security Council, the United Nations Security Council regularly publishes a kind of list of major terrorists, it looks like this. It looks like that it is written that the proposal of the United Nations Security Council is written in the United Nations Security Council. … These are noted, notorious terrorists, they have a residence, it is written that they are operated from here.
Speaking to NOS, Jaishankar reiterated that India and Pakistan bilaterally agreed to shut down shelling on 10 May when Indian attacks “forced the Pakistani army to accept that we needed to stop firing on each other.” He said that India targeted 8 airports in Pakistan, causing them to become inactive. He said, “What happened was that it was mandatory after the attack by the terrorists that our response should be, because in such a situation the lack of response was impossible.”
“If there is such an attack, there will be a reaction”
When a journalist asked, “It has been tried in the past, do not react.” In his reply, Jaishankar said, “And we have seen the results. So, our government has been very clear. Well, I accept that this may not be a policy of the previous government. But, our government is very clear, if there is such an attack, there will be a reaction. The response was, the response was targeted by these 9 places, where the terrorist center as I said, all the places are shown in the United Nations List, I mean that there are all the terrorist work and the same are the only terrorists. Are. After that the Pakistani Army decided to shoot at us and we replied, it lasted for four days and then the decisive day was May 10. “
He said, “In response to the attack on us that morning on the morning of May 10, we attacked 8 airports. It is a base. I think it forced the Pakistani army to accept that we need to stop firing on each other.
In response to the Pahalgam attack, the Indian armed forces started ‘Operation Sindoor’ on the morning of 7 May, in which 9 terrorist bases were targeted in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK), causing more than 100 terrorists to die of terrorist organizations like Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let) and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM). After the attack, Pakistan attempted drone attacks in the Line of Control and Jammu and Kashmir in cross-border areas as well as drone attacks, after which India launched a coordinated attack and damaged radar infrastructure, communication centers and air areas at airports in Pakistan. On May 10, India and Pakistan arrived at an agreement to ceasefire.
