At least four people have died in the fierce landslides on Thursday in a rural area of South-Western Guizhou province of China, while 17 people are still stuck in the debris. This information was given by China’s official news agency Xinhua.
According to the information, two bodies were recovered in Changshi Township, while two more bodies were found in the nearby Kingyang village. The landslide in Kingyang engulfed 19 people from eight families.
According to local media reports, the power supply came to a standstill in most parts of the Guova township after the landslide. A local resident said that the area continued to rain all night, causing the landslide situation.
A drone video released by the government media showed a huge brown soil strip cutting the green slopes of the mountainous area, which reflects the magnitude of landslides.
