Two more companies are preparing to knock in the IPO market. Two subsidiaries of Coal India Limited – BCCL and CMPDI are also preparing to bring IPOs. Soon, draft paper (draft paper) will be filed near SEBI soon. According to PTI news, Coal India Limited gave this information on Monday on the occasion of CII Mining and Construction Equipment Summit.

The company will soon file DRHP

According to the news, Director of Coal India Limited (CIL), Business Development Debashish Nanda said that we are going to file DRHP soon. We are working on it. DRHP is an initial document that a company files to the market regulator SEBI for public offer. Nanda further said that the book running lead manager (BRLM) has just been appointed for the IPO. The coal ministry had earlier stated that both firms – India Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) and Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI) will be listed, but time will depend on market conditions.

Company’s financial performance

Coal India has seven coal producing subsidiaries and a technical and counseling company. The company contributes more than 80 percent to domestic coal production. The company’s consolidated net profit for the quarter ended March 2025 increased by 12 percent to Rs 9,604.02 crore on an annual basis, which was due to higher income. The total income during the January-March period increased from Rs 40,457.59 crore to Rs 41,761.76 crore in a year ago.

Coal production remained stable in April

Coal production by CIL was about 62. 1 million tonnes (MT), about 62. 1 million tonnes compared to the period of one year in April. In 2024–25, CIL produced 781. 1 metric tonnes of coal, which is about seven percent less than the company’s target for the financial year. The company has targeted 875 metric tonnes of production and 900 metric tonnes in the financial year 2025-26.
