Between IPL 2025, Virat Kohli surprised the whole world by retiring from Test cricket. These days, more discussion is being done about Virat Kohli’s retirement. All people from fans to cricketers believe that Virat could play more than 3-4 years more cricket. In this episode, Virat Kohli’s fellow player and his childhood friend Ishant Sharma has given a big statement. He believes that Virat could play Test cricket till the age of 40.
Ishant Sharma spoke openly on his relationship with Virat
In the ‘Star Sports Press Room Show’ before the Gujarat Titans match against Delhi Capitals, Ishant Sharma said that he feels that Virat Kohli is a star for the people from outside. He cannot see them in the way they are playing with the two under-17. He is my childhood friend. Along with this, the fast bowler recalled the days of the under-19 team where he shared a room with Virat and made a budget for the food. Ishant said that when he was in under-19, he and Virat used to count how much money he had left. Then both of them used to eat food. Both players used to save their travel allowance and take them with them. Hence Ishant said that Virat Kohli is different for everyone. He is different for them.
Virat has been like my brother- Ishant Sharma
Ishant said that despite Kohli’s stardom, the relationship with him has been like a brother. The fast bowler said, just think, your brother has reached such heights. Everyone is thinking that he is great. But you will see that he is finally a human being. You have spent a lot of time with him. You know him from inside and outside. You know where he came from, how it is and how it is.
Regarding Virat Kohli’s test retirement, Ishant said that after all, we are all human beings. Both he and Virat are good friends. Virat knows what he needs in life and he must have talked to someone. That is why he took such a big decision. He was also surprised by Virat’s retirement. He believes that he could play at least 2-3 years more. He could play for 40 years.
