Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have now also retired from Test cricket. Earlier, after the 2024 T20 World Cup, both of them also announced retirement from T20 International in a single day. That is, now Virat and Rohit will play only ODI cricket. After this, these questions started to arise whether the grade of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma would also change. Now the picture has been cleared by the BCCI.
BCCI’s Grade A Plus currently included four players
The BCCI has made a total of four grades. All the players are involved in this. The BCCI gives them salary every year. This includes Grade A Plus, Grade A, Grade B and C. Talking about now, there are only four players who are in Grade A Plus. This includes Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jaspreet Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja. Except Jaspreet Bumrah, none of the three three are playing formats. Virat and Rohit will now play only ODIs, while Ravindra Jadeja has also left T20 International. It is believed that BCCI grade A Plus gives the same players who are playing all three formats.
Devjit Saikia cleaned a picture
Meanwhile, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia while talking to ANI has said that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s grade A+ contract will continue, even though both have announced retirement from T20 international and Test matches. He said that both players are still part of Indian cricket, they will get all the facilities of Grade A+. That is, whatever apprehensions were, they have been rejected from one end.
How much salary is available in BCCI Central Contract
Seven crore rupees are given to the players annually for Grade A Plus by BCCI, in addition to match fees, it is separate. After this, five crores are given annually for Grade A, three crores annually for Grade B and one crore rupees for Grade C. Apart from this, if you talk about match fees, then 15 lakhs are given to play a Test match, six lakhs to play one ODI and three lakh rupees to play a T20 International match. That is, the player who plays the match, is given money accordingly.
