At the same time, India’s trade with Azerbaijan stood at $ 8.60 million in the same period, which was $ 8.96 million in 2023-24. India’s imports from Turkas stood at $ 2.84 billion between April 2024 to February 2025, which was $ 3.78 billion in 2023-24. This is only 0.5% of India’s total import of $ 720 billion. Import from Azerbaijan stood at $ 19.3 million in 2024-25, while in 2023-24 it was only 7.4 million dollars. That is, India remains a business relationship with both countries, but its share is limited.

What does India come from Turkis?

India exports mineral fuels and oils ($ 96 million in 2023-24), electric machinery, vehicles and their parts, organic chemicals, pharma products, dyeing-decorating materials, plastic, rubber, cotton, man-made fiber and iron-steel. At the same time, India imports marble (block and slab), fresh apples (about one million dollars), gold, vegetables, lime-cement, mineral oil ($ 1.81 billion in 2023-24), chemicals, pearls and iron-eses from Turkas. The two countries signed a bilateral trade agreement in 1973, under which the India-Turkish Joint Commission was established in 1983 for economic and technical cooperation.

Around 3,000 Indian citizens

Currently, the Turkas have around 3,000 Indian citizens, including around 200 students. Azerbaijan also has the number of Indian communities more than 1,500. In the year 2023, India was the third largest destination of Azerbaijan’s crude oil.
