Banks will remain closed for a total of 12 days this month, including national holidays, state holidays, all Sundays and second and fourth Saturdays.

May 1 (Thursday) – Labor Day/Maharashtra Day: Banks will remain closed in cities like Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Nagpur, Kolkata etc.

May 9 (Friday) – Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti: Banks will remain closed in Kolkata.

May 12 (Monday) – Buddha Purnima: Banks will remain closed in many cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Bhopal, Jammu, Shimla.

May 16 (Friday) – State Day: Bank closed in Gangtok (Sikkim).

May 26 (Monday) – Kazi Nazrul Islam’s birth anniversary: ​​Bank closed in Agartala.

May 29 (Thursday) – Maharana Pratap Jayanti: Bank holiday in Shimla.

Also, banks will be closed every Sunday (4, 11, 18, 25 May) and second and fourth Saturday (May 10 and 24).

Despite mock drills across the country today, banking services will be available normally. Citizens will not have any problem in any bank related transaction. Mock drill is only safety practice, it will not have any effect on the essential service of daily life.
