Esports have been first included in the Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG), which will give players a chance to compete in ‘BGMI’, ‘Street Fighter 6’, Chess and ‘E-Football’. Esports industry experts believe that this lower will help to install it as a mainstream game. Esports 2026 will be an official medal game at the Asian Games. With this, the first Olympic ESPORTS Game is going to start in 2027. Bihar has organized the Bihar State ESPOR Open Championship and ‘The Bihar Inter School and College ESORS CHPANP’ in the last one year before the KIYG 2025 included it as a performance game.
It will be held on 6 and 7 May
States like Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Nagaland have also taken active steps to support and make the esports event at the grassroots level. The ESPORTS competitions will be held on 6 and 7 May in the Pataliputra sports complex. This includes ‘Battlegood Mobile India (BGMI)’, ‘Street Fighter 6’, Chess and ‘E-Fatball’. It will be played on both mobile and console. BGMI is the most popular ESPORTS game in India but the inclusion of chess in Kiyg 2025 is a big step.
