Putin last visited India in 2021.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday called PM Modi and expressed condolences to 26 people killed in the Pahalgam terror attack. Along with this, India said to give full support to India in India’s fight against terrorism.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said in the X that during the conversation, the Russian President emphasized that people should be involved in the attack and behind them should be brought into the dock.

President Putin called Prime Minister Modi and strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India. He expressed deep condolences on the death of innocent people and spoke of giving full support to India in the fight against terrorism. He emphasized that the culprits and their supporters of this attack should be brought into the dock.
Putin will come to India for the first time after Ukraine War
President Putin will visit India this year. Preparations are being made for his visit. However, information about which month or date their visit will be will not be revealed yet. This is Putin’s first visit to India after the Ukraine War started in 2022.
Earlier, Putin came to India for only 4 hours in 2021. During this time, 28 agreements were signed between India and Russia. It had military and technical agreements. The two countries had targeted the annual trade annually by 2025 $ 30 billion (2 lakh 53 thousand crore rupees).
In 2021, Putin came to India for just a few hours, meeting PM Modi in New Delhi.
Putin is escaping from traveling to other countries after the arrest warrant is issued
In March 2023, ICC issued an arrest warrant against Putin. The court held Putin responsible for War Crime on the basis of allegations of kidnapping and Departation of children in Ukraine.
This was the first time ICC issued an arrest warrant against the top leader of a permanent member country of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). America, Russia, China, Britain and France are permanent members of UNSC.
Since then, Putin has been avoiding traveling to other countries. He did not come to India to attend the G20 summit last year. This year has not participated in the G20 Summit in Brazil this year. He was replaced by both Foreign Minister Sergei Lavarov both participated in the program.
Was supported India on the day of attack
Russia also expressed its support for India on 22 April on the day of Pahalgam attack. Then President Putin had said that the criminals of the Pahalgam attack would be strictly punished. We are with India. Our condolences are with the afflicted families. We all pray for the injured to recover as soon as possible.
India Pakistan is steadily increasing tension
Since the Pahalgam attack, there has been increasing tension between India and Pakistan. The Jammu and Kashmir administration has closed the gates of Baglihar and Salal Dam built on the Chenab river. He was getting water to Pakistan. India has canceled the Indus Water Treaty after the India Pahalgam attack, which is upset the Government of Pakistan.
On the other hand, the Air Force Chief informed Prime Minister Modi on the preparations for the war. According to media reports, Airchief Marshal AP Singh told the PM at the meeting held on Sunday that the Air Force is ready to deal with every situation. The defense network on the western border is also fully active and Rafael is also ready.
