Many serious allegations have been made against American businessman George Soros.
US President Joe Biden will honor 19 people with the prestigious Presidential Medal of Freedom at the White House on Saturday. It is America’s highest civilian honor. The name of the controversial George Soros is also included in these.
Apart from Soros, names of stalwarts like former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, football superstar Lionel Messi, fashion designer Ralph Lauren, actor Denzel Washington are also included in this list.
The people who have received the award are associated with fields like politics, sports, entertainment, human rights, LGBTQ+, science.
The White House has also given clarification behind adding Soros’ name to this list.
George Soros is being honored because he has supported organizations around the world that strengthen democracy, human rights, education and social justice.
George Soros is an American billionaire and leftist thinker. He has been accused of conspiring with the opposition to destabilize the Indian government.
George Soros has been an opponent of Prime Minister Modi
George Soros was born on August 12, 1930 in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. George is accused of running an agenda to influence the politics and society of many countries of the world. Soros’s organization ‘Open Society Foundation’ entered India for the first time in 1999.
In 2014, it began funding organizations in India that improve medicine, the justice system, and help people with disabilities. In 2016, the Government of India banned funding through this institution in the country.
George’s statement to the Munich Security Council in August 2023 was highly discussed. When he had said that India is a democratic country, but Prime Minister Modi is not democratic.
Soros also gave controversial statements on CAA, 370
Soros had also targeted PM Modi on the Citizenship Amendment Act i.e. CAA in India and the removal of Article 370 from Kashmir. Soros had said on both the occasions that India was moving towards becoming a Hindu nation. On both the occasions his statements were very harsh.

According to the White House, this prestigious award is given to those who have made significant contributions to America’s prosperity, values, global peace or social and public sectors. In this matter the White House issued a statement saying-
They have been selected because they are good people who have made extraordinary contributions to their country and the world.
Other people honored this year include NGO founder Jose Andres and environmentalist researcher Gail Goodall. Hillary Clinton has been the Foreign Minister of America. He contested the presidential election against Donald Trump in 2016. She had lost during that time.
Four people will receive awards posthumously
Four medals are to be awarded posthumously. These include Democratic leader Fannie Lou Hamer, former Attorney General Robert Kennedy, Michigan Governor George Romney and former Defense Secretary Ash Carter.
