Veteran actor Nana Patekar recently spoke openly about her childhood filled with struggle. In an interview to Siddharth Kannan, he told that he started working at the age of 13. At that young age, he tried to help his family financially. Also told how he maintained a balance between school studies and work. He told that he used to earn only 35 rupees a month and used to live by eating only once a day. Despite hundreds of difficulties, he did not give up. Nana Patekar said that those difficult times had really changed the attitude of seeing his life. He said, ‘I believe that your situation determines your age. After a while, I did not let my conditions decide my age. Now, I decide myself, 18, 19 … I am as young as I want to be. ‘

Nana Patekar made his debut in Bollywood with ‘Gaman’ (1978) and made a mark with ‘Salaam Bombay’ (1988). He won the National Award and Filmfare Award for ‘Parinda’ (1989) and made her debut with ‘Prahar’ (1991). In the 1990s, he got success from films like ‘Raju Bane Gaya Gentleman’ (1992), ‘Angar’ (1992), ‘Tiranga’ (1993) and ‘Krantiveer’ (1994), for which he received several awards.
