1) R Ashwin
Indian off -spinner Ravichandran Ashwin announced his retirement after the third Test against Australia played in Gaba, Brisbane in December 2024. He is no longer playing for India in any format, which is why he is not included in the Central Contract.
2) Shardul Thakur
Star all -rounder Shardul Thakur last played the last match for India in December 2023, since then he has been running out of Team India. He was out of the Indian team due to injury. For this reason, he has not been included in the list of Central Contract for the 2024-25 season. Shardul is currently playing for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025.
3) Avesh Khan
Avesh Khan played the last match for India during the series against South Africa in November 2024 and is also doing well for Lucknow in the current season of IPL. Avesh made his debut for India in 2022 and has played 8 ODIs and 25 T20 matches for India till now. The fast bowler is not included in the Central Contract for the 2024-25 season.
4) Jitesh Sharma
Jitesh Sharma made his debut for India in 2024. He has played nine T20 matches for India. During this time he could not perform well. It was believed that he would get a place in India’s team for the T20 World Cup 2024 but it did not happen. In such a situation, his exit from this list was considered almost certain and in the end it happened.
5) KS Bharat
Another player whose exit from the Central Contract was believed to be KS Bharat. He was a part of Team India as a specialist wicketkeeper batsman for a long time, but his performance there was not as expected. For this reason, he has been excluded from the Central Contract.
