Gujarat: The Congress party has started a comprehensive plan to strengthen its organizational structure at the ground level, declaring the year 2025 as “organization creation year”. Under this scheme, the Congress is now moving towards making the organization decentralized and effective by adopting the strategy of the first district, then the state.

According to sources, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has an important role in preparing this work of organization creation. The entire blueprint of the pilot project being implemented in Gujarat has been prepared by Priyanka Gandhi. Under this scheme, 43 AICC Observer, 7 Supporting Observer and 183 PCC Observer have been appointed in Gujarat on April 12. The purpose of these appointments is to reorganize the organization at the district level and make the district presidents more powerful. These observations include many senior leaders, including Bala Saheb Thorat, BK Hariprasad, Manikam Tagore, Harish Chaudhary, Meenakshi Natarajan, Vijay Inder Singla, Ajay Kumar Lallu, Imran Masood, Dheeraj Gurjar and B.V. The names of Srinivas are prominent. The first meeting of all these observations will be held in Gujarat on 15 April, in which further strategy will be decided.

Will faction be stopped?

The main objective of this initiative should be eliminated by eliminating the internal factionalism in the Congress organization and the organization should be decentralized by empowering the district presidents. In fact, due to factionalism in the Congress organization, till now only the state president or people associated with them have been made the district president in the state. In such a situation, at the grassroots level, instead of the district president party, they used to work in the interest of one leader or faction. In a state like Haryana, the Congress party has not been able to constitute a state unit in the state due to factionalism for almost a decade.

In this new system, every AICC observer will be assigned one district each. They will be accompanied by four state observers, who will go to the block level and discuss the names of potential district presidents. These discussions will be monitored by AICC Observer and the report will be submitted to the high command based on the ground feedback. After this, the central organization of the party will appoint the district president.

Fauth to district presidents

If Congress sources are to be believed, the party is no longer wants the district presidents to limit only the organization operations, but is also considering giving them an important role in the selection of election candidates. Gujarat will become the first state to adopt this model, where the opinion of the district presidents will be decisive in the selection of candidates in the upcoming assembly elections.
