A court in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala state has sentenced a person convicted to life imprisonment in the case of raping a patient suffering from Corona infection in 2020. The guilty man was the driver of the ambulance and raped the patient when he was being brought to the Kovid Center. Now the court has sentenced the guilty person to life imprisonment and has also imposed a fine of Rs 2,12,000. Let’s know about this whole matter.
What is the whole incident?
In fact, this incident of rape of a patient suffering from corona infection is from 5 September 2020. Significantly, at that time the corona was struggling with virus infection across the country. A 19 -year -old Kovid patient was being taken to the first aid center. The victim was being brought to the Kovid Center in Pandalam from Adour General Hospital. Meanwhile, he was raped at midnight.
How was the incident revealed?
The Corona patient was raped by an ambulance driver in a deserted area of Arnamula while bringing from Adoor General Hospital to the covid center of Pandalam. Actually, the victim told the doctors about the incident after reaching the treatment center. Then this incident was revealed. There was a lot of uproar in the entire state due to this incident. Health officials were criticized because they sent the only female patient to the ambulance.
Court punished severe punishment
In this entire case, the court convicted 29 -year -old Naufal from Kayamkulam area of the state. Pathanamthitta Chief Sessions Court fixed the term of the convict and sentenced him to life imprisonment. Along with this, the court has also imposed a fine of Rs 2,12,000 on the convict.
