Connaught Place, India Gate, Saket, M-Block Market Greater Kailash, Chirag Delhi, New Friends Colony, Defense Colony, South-Extension, Mehrauli, Aya Nagar Border, Khanpur, Nehru Place Near Eros Hotel, Near Govind Puri Metro Station , Qutub Minar, Huajkhas Village, Vasant Vihar, Vasant Kunj, Kapashera, Dwarka, Rajouri Garden, Netaji Subhash Place, Rohini, Pitampura, Ashok Vihar, Model Town, Mukherjee Nagar, G.T. Special arrangements were made for areas around Karnal Road, Karkardooma, Laxmi Nagar, Preet Vihar, Vikas Marg and Mayur Vihar Phase-1.
Traffic staff were deployed at various places to keep an eye on drivers violating traffic rules. On December 31, a special drive was conducted across Delhi and action was taken against a total of 4583 drivers, including 558 drunk driving, 35 dangerous driving, 205 wrong side driving, 35 triple riding and 648 without helmet. The drivers were involved and 63 vehicles were seized on the spot.
88 teams equipped with breath analyzers were deployed
On December 31, the traffic police had deployed 88 teams equipped with breath analyzers to check drunken driving. Major locations to check stunts, over speed, carelessness, erratic and dangerous driving on motorcycles like Connaught Place, Mehrauli, Saket, Nehru Place, Vasant Vihar, South-Extension, Rajouri Garden, Pitampura, Netaji Subhash Place, Laxmi Nagar. And special posts were also established at Mayur Vihar etc.
This year, on New Year’s Eve, action was taken against a total of 558 drivers for drunk driving, while action was taken against 416 drivers in 2023, 318 in 2022, 25 in 2021, 19 in 2020 and 299 in 2019. Was. While there were 4 deaths in fatal road accidents on New Year’s Eve 2024, there were no deaths in fatal road accidents on New Year’s Eve 2025. This has been possible only because of the traffic system put in place in the city to check incidents of dangerous driving, careless driving and drunk driving.
Delhi Police warns drunk drivers
Earlier on New Year’s Eve, Delhi Police had put up a funny social media post to warn against drunk drivers and hooligans. The post said that the capital police will organize a ‘cell block party’ for the goons. It was said in the post that the opening performer of this party is a breath analyzer which will identify drunk drivers.
Traffic police issued more than 17 thousand challans in Mumbai
In the new year, a fine of Rs 89 lakh was collected from those who broke traffic rules in Mumbai. Mumbai Traffic Police collected fines of Rs 89.19 lakh from 17,800 drivers for violating traffic rules during New Year celebrations in the city. The police conducted the operation from New Year’s Eve till early Wednesday.
