Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav informed that the Cabinet has approved a one-time special package of up to Rs 3,850 crore for Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) fertilizer. After this approval of the Union Cabinet, there will be no interruption in the supply of DAP fertilizer to the farmers and there will be relief in its prices. Under this special package, the Central Government will provide financial assistance to the fertilizer companies, so that they can continue supplying fertilizers to the farmers and the prices can be controlled.
DAP farmers will continue to get Rs 1350 per 50 kg bag, the government will bear the additional burden. By the way, the price of this one bag is around Rs 3000. For this, a subsidy of Rs 3850 crore will be given at one time. Currently, there is fluctuation in the prices of DAP in the international market, but it is being said that it will not affect the farmers of India.
Let us tell you that many steps have been taken for the farmers in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the allocation of PM Crop Scheme has been increased to Rs 69515 crore. At the same time, approval has been given to continue the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme and the Reorganized Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme till 2025-26. For this, a total outlay of Rs 69,515.71 crore has been fixed from 2021-22 to 2025-26. This decision will help in risk coverage of crops from non-preventable natural disasters for farmers across the country by 2025-26.
